So-I have spent a long time in product development lately and I am finally starting to see all the countless hours show signs of reality.  I began my quest to make all my own products after years of struggling with vendors who just don’t get it-what don’t they get, well everything! That’s how this all started.  Take a look at what I have going on.

Perfect for a 2" anything.

Perfect for a 2" anything.

We struggle with so many pots and don’t understand why designed pots that don’t work  with plants.  I guess what I am saying, if you want to get a 6″ orchid and put in it a pot-you will need a giant 8″ pot making the scale all out of whack.  We designed this pot to perfectly accommodate our 2″ orchids.

I redesigned this product because everything on the market was crap.  They always fell apart and didn’t always assembly properly.  I couldn’t stand having to beat brand new products with a hammer to assembly them for a customer.

The perfect hanging bracket

The perfect hanging bracket.

I am always struggling with great looking hanging brackets for baskets.  They are either way to big or to small.  Never just right, well these are just perfect.

New Basket Design with Hanger

This basket & hanger is 14″ in diameter with a 17″ chain.  This will allow plants like snap dragons and other tall flowers the room they need to flourish.

Looking for a deeper planter to maintain healthy root growth as well as being architectural inspired, I came up with these.  We are going to moss them up and plant the samples shortly.

Well-as our ongoing fascination with building the most technically advanced web-o-matic continues, I  am officially a nerd.  At least my consultants at Brand Labs think I am…please don’t tell them I am nothing of the sort.

I am the Superhuman Chadster…no nerdster here.

So-the weather in New Orleans is finally not so wintery and the sun is showing it face routinely except your yard looks like crap.  All those lushes tropical plants look like brown mush and all you can think is,  I have so much to do.

Let’s start with a simple plan-

Step 1. Clean up

Begin removing all the dead debris but rather than making huge piles- cut and put the debris in trash bags.  This will reduce the amount of time it takes for clean up and if for some reason you get tired or more like over it-then its all cleaned up.  Continue to work through the yard hacking and whacking all those plants.  Ok- maybe not whacking them to the ground-it is important to make clean cuts removing all frozen or damaged foliage.

Once you have clean up the gardening-you can begin to think of the big picture.

Since your spring bikini is not so sexy after a winter of cold and windy days- on those beautiful spring mornings maybe an alternative to that typical run or the hour with Guido the trainer- Gardening could be the answer.   Gardening will help  burn those unwanted pounds or maybe give you aguilt free upside down calorie loaded coffee from Starbucks.  Gardening can be considered exercise and add to your calorie burn for the day if you just put your back into it.

Once you have made the trip to your garden center( Hopefully in New Orleans you realize The Garden Gates is the healthy alternative),  unload those materials by carry them by hand rather than in a cart-more trips = more calories.  Stay on your feet when mulching-placing one hand on the ground for balance( and a great core workout) but make sure to alternate( can’t have ripped abs on the left and marshmallows on the right.)

When its time to cut the lawn-” Man Up” well not to be discriminatory but turn off those self propelled mowers and push that 100lbs machine.  The Big Loser Ranch will be doing it next episode if the word gets out.

How many calories can you burn?  Based on how hard you work-how much you bend and squat-you can expect 250-500 calories per hour( Ladies-250 & Men 500)  So-if those skinny jeans aren’t so skinny or that belly is more like a beer belly- get in that gardening and work away those calories.

Funny thing-you’ll love the new you and your garden of the month!
